Here is the "definitive" history of sword swallowing. An excellent addition to any circus museum.

This site is a tour of the cemeteries of New Orleans. -- home
I find that some of the most interesting museums are the ones put up by the people themselves. Cemeteries and their tombstones are fascinating places to study symbols of life and death.

Plimoth (read Plymouth) Plantation is also a living history museum, but quite different from Colonial Williamsburg. The reenactors here each play specific historical roles and stick with them like glue. The village itself is a working farm, with new buildings going up (in the correct period style of building), gardens, compost heaps, and food preparation.

Colonial Williamsburg is a living history museum. While not totally accurate (where are the open sewers?), it is a great place to visit and talk to the reenactors. I enjoyed the military demonstrations.
